Circles of Life: Round Florals in Alcohol Inks: Saturday 2/08, 11:00am-2:00pm with guest artist Kimberly Deene Langlois CHESTNUT HILL HOUSE
Update:
We are very grateful to be able to host you in a new location while the River Arts District rebuilds. The space is a renovated historic home in the Chestnut Hill area at 53 Orange Street. (A beautiful new studio space to host ArtPlay Classes)
Spend an afternoon learning the inspiring and versatile medium of alcohol inks, including ways to use the elements of air and gravity to move the inks across the page!
In this class, we’ll be painting with alcohol ink and creating a beautiful floral composition on black round synthetic paper. Alcohol ink is a very fluid art medium and we’ll explore various ways of creating loose florals by using gravity and air to move the ink.
The inks have a fascinating way of naturally blooming and expanding across the page, creating unique & beautiful shapes, and because of this every painting will be different. You’ll learn how to direct the inks in subtle ways that will bring life to your designs.
We will also apply detailed accents to our paintings in ways that add beautiful dimension and interest.
All materials will be provided and no prior experience is needed. Just come ready to have fun & learn!
