In this playful, process-oriented workshop, Jenny will guide you step-by-step through her layered mixed media approach—from the first marks and textured backgrounds to faces that seem to emerge naturally from the layers beneath.

Working on both paper and stretched canvas, you’ll explore paper collage, acrylic paint, mediums, and inks to create rich, dimensional surfaces. From there, Jenny will show you a simple, intuitive approach to drawing and painting faces, with special attention to the eyes—where so much of the feeling comes alive.

Along the way, Jenny will share her favorite techniques for creating grunge, working with transparent layers, and keeping your marks loose and expressive. You’ll be encouraged to quiet the inner critic, let go of perfectionism, and embrace the messy middle—the place where unexpected and beautiful things often begin to happen.

Tactile, expressive, and a little bit messy, this workshop is an invitation to trust the process, follow your intuition, and watching your work expand as you go.

No experience is necessary, and experienced artists are equally welcome.
