Grounding and Opening: A Visual and Somatic Journey

$25.00

Movement and somatic practices can open us to new ways of perceiving and approaching our visual practice, inspiring new experiences of space, matter, and the relationship between bodies (animate and inanimate).

Together, we will bring attention to the forces of above and below — of gravity and our ever-shifting sense of balance in relation to the earth. Drawing from our kinesthetic awareness through individual and group movement exploration, we will translate our sensations and embodied intuitions into imagery and vice-versa! Our class will playfully challenge our usual ways of engaging creative and visual expression, encouraging new approaches to image-making through somatic inquiry.
