Winterscapes in Watercolor: Saturday 01/25, 2:00 pm -5:00 pm with local artist Casi Fordham CHESTNUT HILL HOUSE
Update:
We are very grateful to be able to host you in a new location while the River Arts District rebuilds. The space is a renovated historic home in the Chestnut Hill area at 53 Orange Street. (A beautiful new studio space to host ArtPlay Classes)
Join us at ArtPlay for a relaxing Saturday afternoon of watercolor painting, community & creativity.
As winter unfolds in our blue ridge mountains, we are surrounded by new mountain silhouettes, and sometimes beautiful snowcapped ridges. Join local artist Casi Fordham in this class to capture, re-create and imagine some of these magical scenes & settings from our local landscape - or your favorite winter scenes- using watercolor paints.
In this class, you’ll learn tips & techniques for using transparent watercolors to create an image of a winter landscape that inspires you. Casi will guide you into the world of watercolors as you learn the joy of layering and building up a colorful landscape as well as shadows unique to winter-time. You will start with a step-by-step watercolor demo and warm-up where Casi will guide you with a few watercolor practices and then transition into landscape painting. We’ll explore basic techniques and break down the elements of a landscape and build values. Please bring a reference photo as a muse (from a magazine page, photo, etc).
A light snack and glass of wine will be included with this class.
All materials included. No experience needed.
