Wildlife in Watercolors: Sunday 7/14, 4:00 pm- 7:00 pm with local artist Casi Fordham

$105.00

Do you love wildlife? There’s no shortage of inspiring wild creatures in our mountains - songbirds, hummingbirds, foxes, bunnies, black bears, … and this class invites you to bring an image or two of your favorite animals and learn to recreate their likeness using watercolor paints.

In this class, Casi will guide you in learning various wet into wet watercolor techniques, as you build layers of color and shapes, adding dry details afterward.

Allowing the pigment and water to interact as they expand across the page together is a great way to trust the creative process as it unfolds. Watercolors have a way of leading and surprising you if you allow them to!

You will begin with a step-by-step watercolor demo where you will warm-up with Casi’s guidance, and then transition into several rounds of layering and painting on your background papers. We’ll explore basic techniques, break down the elements of building values, guided by demos each step along the way. You will bring home your practice pieces as well as a larger piece you’ll work up to.

A light afternoon snack and a glass on wine will be served.

All materials provided. No experience needed.
