Step into a creative space where art becomes both playful and deeply personal.
In this 4.5-hour workshop, we’ll explore intuitive watercolor and acrylic inks through a series of layered, meditative explorations that gradually build toward your signature portal and nest piece, a circular, layered work that embodies protection, growth, and transformation. These final creations invite you to slow down, follow the flow of color, and leave your own unique marks using natural tools like sticks, feathers, and dried flowers.
We’ll begin with mark-making on paper as a warm-up, playful exploration of lines, textures, and forms. Some pieces may be torn, layered, or enhanced with affirmations, offering a reflective, meditative way to connect with yourself and open your creativity.
Next, we’ll explore loose, intuitive portraits, pairing watercolor and acrylic ink with journaling prompts, short love letters or affirmations to yourself that can be painted over and merged into the visual work. This practice continues to loosen your intuition and deepen your connection to your own creative voice.
Finally, we’ll bring all that energy into the portal/nest exploration…your centerpiece work on mineral paper, where the focus is fully on flowing, meditative mark-making and layering with acrylic inks, embellished with gel pens and painted using not only brushes but feathers & sticks. This is the signature experience that many participants love most: a culmination of intuition, texture, and color that embodies both personal expression and transformation.
This workshop is for all levels, whether you’re just beginning or returning to your creative practice. I’ll also share glimpses of how these intuitive processes became a way back to my own creativity after life took an unexpected turn. Come curious, leave with a collection of meaningful artworks, simple tools for daily renewal, and a refreshed sense of creative possibility.
