Step into a gentle, creative afternoon where curiosity and intuition guide your art. In this 4.5-hour workshop, we’ll explore watercolor and acrylic inks through playful, meditative mark-making, natural tools, and layered explorations that gradually build toward your signature portal and nest creations—pieces that embody protection, growth, and transformation.
We’ll begin by warming up with intuitive marks on paper, letting color, texture, and flow guide your hand. These explorations may be layered, torn, or enhanced with personal affirmations, inviting reflection and a connection to your own creative voice.
Next, we’ll create small affirmation cards—miniature canvases for words, color, and sometimes loose, intuitive imagery. These gentle exercises help open your imagination and loosen your approach to your larger works.
Finally, we’ll bring that energy to your portal/nest centerpiece on mineral or watercolor paper. Using brushes, sticks, and feathers, we’ll layer inks and watercolors, set them aside to dry, and then discover the hidden images and messages that emerge, revealing your unique patterns with gel pens. This is a deeply meditative, playful process that combines intuition, texture, and color into a personal work of transformation.
This workshop is open to all levels, whether you’re just beginning, returning to your creative practice, or simply curious to explore. Come curious, leave with a collection of meaningful artworks, simple tools for daily creative renewal, and a renewed sense of possibility.
