Encaustics & Pan Pastels Workshop: Sunday 6/22, 10AM-2:30PM w/ local artist Michelle Hamilton
Join local artist Michelle Hamilton for this beginner-friendly, fun & colorful workshop, where you will learn the process of painting and layering with beeswax, while also learning to use pan pastels and oil pastels for layers of vibrant color! .
In this class, you'll discover various ways to build and apply the wax pigment as well as tools & techniques for creating patterns, textures and shapes by carving into the wax to create lines and details. Michelle will also bring some of her own encaustic creations to fuel your ideas & imagination while you create and play.
You will have practice backgrounds first to play and experiment with layering both clear and colored wax. You will then create a piece unique to you on your choice of two 8x8 wood panels.
All materials will be included and there will be a small break for snack & a beverage (provided).
