Hello Reverse Gelli Printing! Friday 6/14 , 5:00-8:00 pm with local artist Michelle Hamilton

$125.00

Join us for this brand new class, fresh off the gelli plate! Local artist Michelle Hamilton has been experimenting with various ways to use gel plates and has discovered a super fun, effective technique that transforms the plate into your own stamp designs!

In this class, you will learn how to make your own unique gel plate “stamps” using stencils, everyday items & acrylic paints to create impressions on a wood panel. Whether abstract, figurative, or both, you will build a fun & layered pattern on your panel during the first part of this class. During the second half of the class, Michelle will guide you in creating some loose sketches of some bird images - using a visual muse - and from there you’ll choose your favorite sketch to trace onto your patterned wood panel. Finally, you’ll use acrylic paints to bring life and color to your bird

In these images Michelle uses her current Lizard creation- to illustrate an example of adding an image on top of a gelli-stamped background.

This class is beginner-friendly. No experience is needed and materials are included.

NOTE:

You may bring an image of another animal -other than a bird- so long as the image you use will be fairly simple.

OPTIONAL:

A resin finish can be arranged with Michelle at the end of class - $30, if you would like this option.
