Bespoke Block Printed Gifts: Carve and Stamp on Hand Dyed Fabric!: Friday 11/08 5:00pm- 8:00pm with local artist Jessica Kaufman
Update: This class is relocated to the Center for Craft in downtown Asheville at 67 Broadway St, Asheville, NC 28801.
We thank you for being patient with us as we navigate our next steps post-Helene.
Join us for a spark of hope! This will be our first class offered post-Helene, and we are very much looking forward to welcoming people into creative community again.
The holidays are coming up soon, and wouldn’t you love to learn the skills needed to not just carve your own unique linoleum stamps, but to also get beautiful prints with them over and over on any fabric or clothing item? We will do exactly that in this three hour class! The first half of class will be devoted to understanding the fundamentals of good design, layout, and carving out of any simple image you would like. We will then spend about an hour printing with your stamps, each others’, and the instructor’s collection. Each student will be provided with two hand dyed cotton tea towels, or a tea towel and one canvas tote, but please feel free to bring one (1) item of clothing to make more magic onto from your home collection. Solid, light colors work best!
Oh, and you will leave with your own unique hand-carved stamps to use again and again in your art projects (collage, mixed media, future fabric projects, etc…)
All materials you need are included with this class.
Optional: you may bring a garment from home to print on if you like. Please wear clothes that can get dirty!
