The visual journal combines the visual with the journal, the image with the word. It is a rich and layered record of your life, a unique and personal lexicon that evolves over time. It is always in a state of becoming, cultivated over the years. The visual journal is truly a conversation piece.
Guided by local book artist Erin Keane, we will begin with gentle intuitive methods of preparing the blank pages, allowing them to go wherever they wish to go. As we go deeper, we will begin to forge a relationship with your journal and investigate various materials and techniques.
You can create meaning and symbolism by developing a personal visual language. Please feel welcome to incorporate your daily life as well as your dreams, hopes, and goals. Your journal can become a creative and artistic tool to guide future ideas, inspirations, and innovations.
This workshop is only the beginning of a long and loving voyage. Your journal can be integrated into your daily ritual. Open it each morning for a painting or writing exercise, gather ephemera along the way, stencil a few words or doodle a drawing each evening to encapsulate the day.
All materials provided, including a blank journal.
You’ll leave with a multitude of pages primed for further exploration. No experience needed, come empty handed and leave full hearted!
