Forest & Flora: Abstract Painting Workshop: Saturday 10/18, 2:00pm - 5:00pm with local artist Miranda Wildman

$125.00

Spend an afternoon of playful, abstract exploration in acrylic paints with us!

In this uplifting workshop, Miranda will guide you in translating the awe, calm, and vibrancy of Western North Carolina’s natural world into abstract landscapes. No experience needed, just a willingness to explore, play, and let the forests, flora and mountains move you.

With layers of paint you will capture not what you see, but what you feel in nature—misty, moody ridgelines, lush forest landscapes, glowing sunrises & sunsets, moonlit skinny dipping, wildflowers galore, hiking in the snow, tumbling rivers full of life, and quiet creekside moments with flora and fauna abound. How does nature feel?

During our time together in the beautifully, naturally lit ArtPlay Creative Studio, Miranda will share her own intuitive approaches to creating luminous layers and textures that evoke memory, mood, and wonder using the prismatic color palette folks have recognized in her work. Within a calm, welcoming, atmosphere of play, you will paint the essence of these magical mountains. Play with colors, moods, and stories while discovering new layers of your own inner landscape.

All art materials to complete a 12x12” painting on wood will be provided. Miranda believes art is for everyone. This workshop is for every artist, at every level, from all walks of life. ArtPlay Creative Studio is a welcoming space to create freely, connect with others, and leave with a piece that’s uniquely yours.

NOTE: This class will be held at our new location in the River Arts District. There is one flight of stairs to the classroom. Location details will be sent to you in advance of the class.
