SOFT LANDING, BOLD VISION: A COLLAGE JOURNEY, Saturday 9/20 2-5pm with local artist Miranda Wildman
In this guided collage workshop, you’ll explore shape, color, and texture as intuitive languages for expression — building abstract compositions that feel like future visions or safe little nests. No art experience is needed; just bring your curiosity and willingness to explore.
We’ll begin by slowly gathering inspiration — colorful, upcycled, hand painted, and textured papers that Miranda has lovingly created, collected and curated. Miranda will have all the materials you need, including scissors, glue sticks, gel medium, brushes, a choice of mixed media paper or wood as your background…and optional writing prompts!
Step by step, we’ll move through:
Selecting a color palette that reflects a mood, feeling, or dream
Cutting and tearing shapes that call to you while enjoying the process and not worrying about the outcome
Layering intuitively, allowing the collage to unfold at its own pace
Adding final touches with surprise art materials
Throughout, we’ll emphasize process over perfection. There is no “right” composition — only your unique inner language taking shape. Whether your piece becomes a map of where you’re headed, or a soft place to land, this is a practice of presence and possibility.
Leave with a finished or in-progress collage, a deeper connection to your visual voice, and a renewed sense of calm that comes with slow art making. No experience needed, just a willingness to slow down, tune in, and let feeling lead the day. All materials provided. Come as you are.
