Coffee & Cartooning with Catherine: Saturday 10/17, 10:30am to 1:30pm with local artist Catherine Baumhauer

$120.00

We’re so excited to welcome Catherine to the teaching roster & can’t wait for you to learn with her!

What happens when a coffee stain becomes a character? When a little blob turns into a landscape, a face, or the beginning of a story?

Come find out!

In this playful drawing workshop, we’ll use coffee, ink, simple shapes, and loose mark-making to see what we can discover. We’ll make stains and unexpected marks, then let our imaginations take over—turning accidents into quirky characters, curious scenes, and little visual stories.

Inspired by the playful simplicity of artists and illustrators like Ed Emberley and Saul Steinberg, we’ll explore how just a few lines can transform an ordinary mark into something completely unexpected.

There’s no need to know how to draw. In fact, you don’t even need to think of yourself as a “drawer.” This is a relaxed, low-pressure invitation to experiment, follow your curiosity, and enjoy the magic of not knowing exactly what you’re making.

Bring your willingness to play. We’ll bring the coffee, the ink, and plenty of permission to make a mess!
