Imaginative Drawing, Sunday 10/19, 10AM-1PM with local artist Julie Armbruster

In this class, local artist Julie Armbruster will invite you to work with exciting materials, methods, and tools, and enjoy exploring an expanded definition of drawing and its limitless potential!  Respark your joy in experimenting and letting yourself enjoy the making. 

You’ll be guided in using strategies that will engage your imagination and free up your ability to draw images through a playful and spontaneous process!

Exercises will include large group free drawing using improvised suggestions, word reaction freeflow, dream images, erasure, and drawing from random shapes and stains.

☼ Leave with a small collection of one-of-a-kind drawings and mark-making experiments for future works

☼ Open to all levels and identities

☼ Come as you are!

No experience is needed! Materials are provided and will include:

Pencils (various lead hardness), charcoal, erasers, micron pens sizes 05 and 1, white gel pens, scissors, paper of various texture + thickness + size, yellow acrylic ink, brushes and black acrylic ink, white acrylic paint. Various dictionaries and imagination placemats.

If you have a favorite drawing implement, please feel free to bring with you!
