What happens when you let go of the idea of getting it “right” and simply begin?
In this playful, intuitive mixed-media painting workshop, you’ll be invited to explore layering, mark-making, collage, texture, color, and unexpected materials as you create paintings that unfold one layer at a time.
Through a series of loose exercises and creative prompts, we’ll experiment with combining materials, responding to what’s already on the surface, and allowing each new layer to guide the next. You might cover something you love, uncover something unexpected, tear it apart, add it back in, or discover a direction you never could have planned.
This is a space to loosen your grip, follow your curiosity, take a few creative risks, and see what happens. We’ll embrace accidents, surprises, discoveries, and the natural evolution of the work—letting the process be just as important as the finished piece.
There’s no need to know where you’re going before you begin. Come with an open mind, a willingness to experiment, and a little curiosity about what might emerge.
No previous painting experience is necessary. Just come ready to play.
