Discover the beauty and versatility of soft pastels as you create vibrant mountain landscapes, and vivid florals. In this beginner, friendly workshop, you'll learn foundational pastel techniques including layering, blending, color mixing, and creating depth and atmosphere. Using the stunning landscapes of Western North Carolina as inspiration, we'll explore ways to capture rolling mountains, expansive skies, and the subtle shifts of light found in nature.
Whether you're completely new to pastels or looking to build confidence with the medium, this class offers a welcoming space to experiment, play, and develop your creative voice.
Your own pastels set, which you will take home with you, are included with your registration.
There will be a short lunch break mid-day. Please bring a bag lunch or enjoy the newly re-opened & delicious cuban cafe -Guajiro (opening September 12th) - just downstairs, below the studio.
All materials are provided, and you'll leave with a finished landscape pastel piece along with the skills to continue exploring this expressive medium on your own.
